Toh chalein pani puri khaane? 72 year old, usually stern Gupta uncle became a child once again with an unmistakable look of mischief in his eyes. As annoyed as he always got with the building kids and their rowdy cricket shenanigans, he made up for it with being the provider of pani puri! Every Sunday, as if to make peace, he chaperoned all the bacchas to the best pani puri wallah in the area and treated them to what is undoubtedly the monarch of all Indian snacks. As they gobbled one puri after another, talking, laughing, in that moment there would be no difference between a 72-year-old and a 7-year-old. That’s the power of pain puri!
