Red Rice/Akki - Patni

This Red rice is sourced from a small co-operative in Shahapur, Maharashtra. Patni is a short and thick-grained rice and is obtained by removing only the outer layer, therefore, making it like a whole grain. It is unpolished and unhulled thus packed with essential minerals iron, zinc and potassium. It is rich in fibre and antioxidants and the oil contained within the grain can help lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar levels.
